Before filing bankruptcy in Indiana, it is important to understand the basic bankruptcy laws in the state. Whether you consult a lawyer or file for bankruptcy on your own, it is best to know a little about the process and what is expected of you.

Some people believe that they will lose everything they own in a bankruptcy. This is not true; Indiana bankruptcy laws allow for exemptions, as follows:

• Real property worth up to $8,000, which includes your vehicle and other personal belongings.

• The value of your home up to $15,000. It is possible to lose your home in bankruptcy if the equity in your home is worth more than $15,000.

• Some pensions.

• Retirement plans.

• 75% of unpaid, earned wages.

• Some life insurance proceeds, providing the policy restricts use of proceeds to pay creditors.

• Welfare payments.

• Flexible spending account balances.

• Jointly owned business property.

The type of bankruptcy you can file depends on your income. There are two types of personal bankruptcy: Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. In a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, your debts will be discharged and you will no longer owe money to your creditors. In a Chapter 13 bankruptcy, your debt will be restructured, and you will enter into a repayment plan.

You are eligible to file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy if your income falls below the median income in Indiana at the time of filing. If your income is higher than this, you can only file a Chapter 13 bankruptcy. Median income is determined by the household size, as follows:

• One person household: $40,135

• Two person household: $51,104

• Three person household: $59,028

• Four person household: $69,226

Not all debts are eligible to be discharged in bankruptcy. Debts that are not dischargeable include:

• Student loans, except in extreme cases of financial hardship. Generally, student loans are only discharged if the debtor is permanently physically disabled in a way that they have no chance of holding a job in the future.

• Child support payments.

• Cash advances greater than $825, if they were received recently.

• Most overdue tax payments.

Before a person files for bankruptcy in Indiana, they must first complete a counseling course. This is usually a short questionnaire completed online, and will go over the debtor’s income and expenses, as well as the reasons the debtor is considering bankruptcy.

There is a fee for filing for bankruptcy in the state of Indiana: $299 for Chapter 7 and $274 for Chapter 13. This is for one person or a married couple filing a joint bankruptcy. The fee for a bankruptcy lawyer varies, starting around $900, and usually includes the filing fee as the lawyer will handle filing.

The hoosier state is known for its sports, particularly basketball. Try one of the following romantic destinations in Indiana, however, and you will soon know it for something else.

Indiana offers couples a wide variety of activities to enjoy while taking a romantic trip here. The many different golf courses (yes, we know women play too!) as well as Indianapolis, the home of the exciting Indy 500 are located here. The hospitality of the Midwest is also evident when you book romantic destinations in Indiana. Here, there are many sorts of establishments for couples looking to spend some time alone – inns and resorts, bed and breakfasts and hotels are all found throughout the state of Indiana.

One of the most romantic spots in Indiana is found in Brown County, Indiana, near what is known as “Little Nashville”. This spot offers couples the scenic beauty of the Little Smoky Mountains, as well as being close to the Brown County State Park, which is one of Indiana’s most visited state facilities. The resort to see here is the Abbey-Inn, an adults only retreat located in Nashville, Indiana. This resort offers complete non-smoking accommodations to couples who are looking to spend a little time away from their everyday hectic life.

The Abbey-Inn offers 13 rooms to choose from, all with a combination of two person hot tubs, fireplaces, patios and balconies. The rooms at the Abbey-Inn are all meant to be private, in fact, they pride themselves on the fact that you may not see another guest the whole time you’re staying here. Amenities such as snacks (biscotti and other delights), mini-fridge and coffee maker, and breakfast in bed mean that you won’t have to leave your room unless you really want to.

If you prefer your romantic destinations in Indiana to be a bit more subdued and classic, why not try a stay at the 1877 House Bed and Breakfast in Jeffersonville, Indiana. This old converted farm house is just seven miles from the city of Louisville, Kentucky – and it is a great destination for couples from throughout the south or Midwest. All rooms include in-room fireplaces, private baths and even spa and relaxation packages for couples who really want to enjoy their special time together. Full gourmet breakfasts are included with your nightly accommodations.

No matter where in the state you choose, romantic destinations in Indiana are a great way to spend some time together. If you are located in the Midwest, Indiana is a perfect destination for your next adults only trip together.

Trying to find cheap used cars in Indiana? There is great potential in finding real cheap cars at decent condition from the repossessed and impounded vehicles market. Read on to discover how you can find cheap used cars in Indiana through a market that not many people are aware of.

Hundreds if not thousands of cars are repossessed by banks and other financial institutions everyday across the country from people who fail to honor their payment. A good number of vehicles are also seized and impounded by government agencies such as the state police for various felonies and offences. These establishments all seek to do one thing with the vehicles that they seize, sell them off as soon as possible as there is substantial amount of money involved in keeping the automobiles. Thus emerged the market of selling and auctioning off of vehicles that come from these sources. Sometimes you may come across vehicles that are sold for as low as 10% of their current market value. This is a good way to find cheap used cars in Indiana.

Of course, knowing how to get cheap used cars in Indiana won’t do you much good if you do not know where to look. Local newspapers and magazine sometimes feature this kind of sales and auctions. A few minutes of your time everyday may just lead you to a great bargain.

Calling the establishments which you think may hold such auctions will help too. Just make sure that you get to the right person who has all the necessary info and you are set. Remember, not everyone in these establishments may know about the sales or auctions.

Lastly, you can use online service to look up on information of such sales and auctions. I personally prefer to do this as it saves me a lot of time compared to browsing through newspapers or calling people. I also have the flexibility to access the information anywhere I want with an internet connection. Such services provide up-to-date information and you can search for vehicles on sale on your area. It will be a breeze to find cheap used cars in Indiana with such services.

There is not a lot on the books for Indiana gun laws. Basically, it is legal to sell or buy, if you are over the age of 18 and have never been convicted of a felony. This applies to rifles, pistols and handguns, however, it is illegal for anyone outside of those with federal licensing to sell, buy or own an automatic weapon.

Gun regulations in Indiana are not strict, but they are executed or enforced. It is illegal to sell to a minor under the age of 18. While carrying a rifle or shotgun is legal; to conceal or carry a handgun without a permit is illegal. There are specific regulations and stringent rules for concealing and carrying handguns. Permits and licensing are difficult to get outside of those in law enforcement.

Moreover, it is also illegal for anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol to make one. Anyone wishing to purchase a firearm, must undergo a stringent background check. If denied the ability to purchase, the potential buyer is allowed to see the results of this background check.

There are no permits, licensing or registration for anyone over the age of 18 to own a handgun, rifle or shotgun. These may be kept in your own private property. They may be used in defense of your assets. However, lethal force is only acceptable in self defense of one’s lifetime and when there is no means of retreat.

Gun regulation is required by each state government. There are several states that have more strict regulations than Indiana gun laws including California, New York, Iowa and Minnesota. Firearm owners are restricted and subject to the laws within the state they are traveling. If you plan to travel outside of your state while carrying any type of firearm, you should be aware of each state’s regulations before traveling there.

Like many Midwestern counties that are highly populated, Indianapolis (Marion County) has suffered a tremendous blow from the recent economic downturn. Foreclosures still seem to be mounting, and considering the great difficulty of getting a mortgage in this state, it has truly become a buyer’s market-for those who have the funding. With short sales, discounts, and foreclosures popping up left and right, it’s a great time to invest in a property. But, as always with great business opportunities, this one comes with certain risks and caveats.

This past year, 24% of all houses sold in Indianapolis were foreclosures-pretty amazing. Even more impressive, 16% of all new listings were foreclosures. There is no shortage of cheap real estate to invest in right now. Total sales in Indianapolis have dropped about 6% from 2007, and sale prices have gone down about 4%. Due to the lower sale prices, homes tend to spend less time on the market (an average of 9 months, down from 11 previously).

All of these figures add up to one very sweet picture for the investor who has a bit of money to play with. Short sales and discounts are everywhere, and all prices tend to be a bit low, so you can get a real deal on some properties. The number of sales is down, which means there is far less competition in the buying market, making your job infinitely easier and less expensive. And the time it takes to resell your investment tends to be less than the previous.

But before you jump right in with both feet, cash in hand, you should be aware of the climate and attitude of some financial institutions during these foreclosures, and you must be prepared for the financial burden of owning of financial assets in a slow market. First, many banks and other lenders or previous owners are stripping these homes bare at foreclosure. I don’t mean taking couches and TV’s; some are taking everything-sinks, baths, doors, you name it. The point is, don’t get in line to buy a property that’s just walls and a roof unless that’s what you’re looking for. Further, don’t be fooled by the statistic telling you it will take less time to resell your home. That trend reflects the lower listing prices due to foreclosures. If you plan to profit, which of course you do, your listing price will not be quite so low, and you can expect to spend a longer time trying to sell.

So, it’s a buyer’s market in Indianapolis and a great opportunity to jump in when homes are cheap, but understand that you’re dealing with banks who want to get every penny back that they can from a lousy investment, and you’re more than likely dealing with a community that does not have as much disposable income as they are used to having. Get into it understanding these facts: if you have the money, you can get a piece of real estate very cheap right now, but it will probably be very difficult to flip in a timely manner for the kind of profit you might have seen ten years ago. Buyer’s market, but buyers beware!

Is there any state that does not have any records of its divorce cases stored in its state repository? Certainly, none. Each state has its own divorce record that is maintained by the government. Therefore, if you’re in the middle of doing a background check on your future spouse or a future employee, then take a look at these available divorce records for your own benefits. As long as you have patience, you also have the key to open that door towards the world of knowledge.

Indiana Divorce Records is one of the treasures being kept and maintained by the state of Indiana. When technology has not fully bloomed yet, these files in Indiana were just handwritten and were then preserved. In this particular place, the residents are able to obtain a copy of a divorce record by sending out a request at the county offices of the state government in Indiana. In response to such application, the government department will either send the result through mail or the person who made the request should personally get it at the county office.

Imagine you’re a resident in Indiana and your only options to obtain the copy of the information that you need are via mail or personal visit, how is that? Don’t get frustrated yet, because that was just in the past. Getting this kind of information in Indiana is now easier and hassle-free with the advent of technology. It has become a recipient of the many benefits that the Internet has been offering to everyone in this world. With just few clicks, your eyes will be wide-opened to those many private record providers online which offer amazing support for a minimum amount only. However, since these websites are countless, make sure that you’ve read some reviews about them first before you entrust everything to them.

Undoubtedly, not everyone has a computer which has access to the Internet or perhaps not everyone can afford to pay the charge that is required by these fee-based service providers. That should not end your desire to search because even without the Internet, you can still acquire these said documents by checking on those Government Divorce Records. It is the government’s job to keep these documentations. As a matter of fact, the government agencies were the first place that people ran to when it comes to searching for divorce records prior to having them available online.

The same relevant things can be found through this Government Divorce Records. It can also be a great source of information when you’re conducting a background check on someone because it contains enough details on the private profile of a particular individual as well as the complete information about the person’s divorce, the reasons behind it, the persons involved, important dates and locations. Therefore, you don’t have to be sad on not being able to go online. The process may take long, but your local government departments can be of much help too.

Marriage and Divorce Records go hand in hand. A marriage record is created for those couples who were legally wed. On the other hand, a divorce record is made when the said marriage must come to an end for some valid reasons presented by the partner or both of them. For your genealogical research, these records are also considered as very reliable sources of information.

If you’ve ever lived or owned a business in Small Town USA, you know all too well the element of community that makes small businesses go.
The patrons of the locally owned restaurants and grocery stores and auto repair shops are all very well familiar with the owners of these
businesses, as they usually live in the area and it’s not uncommon for their businesses to have been around for generations.

The element of community is strengthened by the fact that more often than not, the owner of the business is also the same guy who operates the register. Loyalty to the local economy feels good knowing their hard earned dollars are going into the pockets of another hard working man or woman that they’ve known and trusted for years. Business owners know that these relationships are built one at a time and are the core of their survival.

So it’s only natural instinct to apply this same principle when your business ambitions expand into cyberspace. The first thing you’re naturally inclined to do is fill the homepage of your new website with a bunch of warm and fuzzy text telling the visitor about how your business was founded by your great-grandaddy Jebediah and has been in the Podunk community for 700 years and on and on. The problem is, we’re not in Kansas anymore.

The Internet has earned several monikers over the years, from ‘Information SuperHighway’ to ‘Global Village’. And, while these superlatives do have a fundamental level of accuracy to them, the fact is the Internet has both connected people and divided them at the same time.

The small town appeal of your business no longer applies when it comes to operating in an online space. Visitors to your site are there for a specific purpose – they’re looking to solve a problem. If your site solves that problem quickly and effectively without forcing the user to jump through a whole bunch of hoops, you’ll likely earn their business in the future. But, if you bombard them with a bunch of crap they don’t care about, they’ll probably click the ‘back’ button on their browser before the page even finishes loading.

In today’s world of e-commerce, visitors to your site don’t care about you. They only care about what’s in it for them. The reason is that there are so many different competing sites in most niches that it simplifies the equation to this: Your potential customers or clients will do business with whomever makes it the most convenient to do so. Period. No one is going to buy from you just because you’re a nice guy, or because your shop has been family owned and operated since the Civil War.

So when you’re planning the navigation of your site (you do have a plan for this, right?), take yourself out of the equation for a minute and consider how your users are going to interact with the site. Give them what they want, as conveniently as possible and you’ll be successful. Because in today’s world, the sites who provide the best user experience are the ones who win. I guess the old saying still applies; nice guys really do finish last.
